March 2011 Update

2011 is off to a great start.  My artwork was selected for the Gulf Breeze Arts Festival poster contest March 12-13.  Also, I am showing work at La Provence Gallery in Pass Christianne, Ms.  This new waterfront gallery is located across from the pier, and is a favorite of New Orlean's visitors.  I'll be at La Provence for the Art in the Park arts festival April 2nd 2011.  Destin seems to be the hottest location for condo and home redecorating. Several orders have been placed through decorators for San Destin condos.  There's a sense of excitement in the air.  Please contact me for suggestions with your artwork choices and placement.  I can make art placements to your floor plans by email, customize size and match colors, deliver to your site and hang if desired.  References provided to new customers.

Since childhood I have loved every aspect of the creative process of art, from my earliest memories during elementary school, designing paper dolls and painting wall murals. To me art has been; a welcome escape, a quest to improve skills, an exhilarating expression of self, therapy, a way to share beauty with friends, and most recently, a passion evolved into a career. There have been several breakthroughs of creativity, which allowed me to step up to the next plateau. The first occurred, in Sarasota, FL. as I spent many months with my son as he completed his senior year at Ringling College of Art and Design. Unfettered by household responsibilities, and surrounded by the beauty of South Florida, I worked day and night to expand my skill. The second happened when I returned to the gulf coast, still inspired by the beauty of the shore and plant life, I had a new found desire to take what was in my heart to the canvas. It was during this time that my own true style was accomplished. The last and most recent happened the latter part of 2000, when the company where I worked, as a marketing manager, burned. For several months I painted most of each day, not seeing a clear future for myself. It occurred to me, that I painted subjects that others may want in their home. Once the originals were put into print form, I called on designers, decorators and store owners to show them my work. Everyone was enthusiastic about the quality and the price and...... “Designer Art by Sandy Klotter” was born.
